The BalconyFarm project was inspired by the desire to connect with nature in urban living. The client wanted a smart farm solution that’s easy to use and can manage various plants automatically. The key feature of BalconyFarm is its precise water delivery system using capillary action, ensuring that each plant gets exactly the water it needs. This design, which was carefully developed by engineers and designers, allows water to be evenly distributed across all eight plant ports.
The POT version of BalconyFarm is a portable, standalone smart farm that can grow fresh vegetables anywhere in your home. It focuses on simple functions like watering and lighting, making it perfect for small spaces. A major advantage of the POT version is that the LED lights and water container can be placed in any port on the tray, giving users the flexibility to create different setups. The water container ensures that the same amount of water is delivered to all parts of the tray, even if placed in different positions.
BalconyFarm also records data on light, water, air, and temperature, helping plants grow healthily through customized care. All this data is stored in the cloud and can be accessed through a mobile app. BalconyFarm encourages a sustainable lifestyle by reducing energy use and promoting self-sufficiency through urban farming.
BalconyFarm will showcase its innovative smart farm technology at the IFA 2024 exhibition in Berlin, Germany. The BalconyFarm booth will be located at HALL 1.2 - 220. This unique design is the result of extensive efforts by designers and engineers.
